Ren Yuqing

Founder and CEO of China’s first jazz brand, JZ Music; bass guitarist and educator actively developing the Chinese jazz scene, and jury member of the China Audio‑Video and Digital Publishing Association.

In 1997, he joined Liu Yuan’s jazz band and launched his jazz career, becoming one of the first jazz musicians in New China. In 2003, he founded JZ Club; in 2004, JZ School; and in 2005, JZ Festival (Shanghai Jazz Music Festival).

JZ Festival has grown into one of the largest jazz festivals in Asia in terms of scale, duration, number and quality of participating musicians, and length of performances.
