Alexander Ryzhinsky

Since 2016, Alexnader Ryzhinsky has been acting as Deputy Chairman of the Federal Higher Education Methodological Association in Music, as Deputy Chairman of the Coordination Council of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation in the field of Art and Culture, and a member of the expert working group in the National Council for Professional Qualifications that represents higher education institutions of culture and art. Since 2013, he has been an expert of the Federal Education and Science Supervision Agency, and has been periodically acting as the head of expert groups involved in state educational accreditation.

The Altro Coro Gnesins’ Ensemble of Contemporary Choral Music, established by Ryzhinsky in 2010, is now a renowned performer of avant-garde and post-avant-garde music in Russia and abroad. The Interkultur Foundation (Germany) has placed the Ensemble on the list of ten top-ranked choirs in the world.

Ryzhinsky is also known as the author of more than 50 research papers and books on studying and performing choral music of the 20th and 21st centuries, including his book “Choral Music of Arnold Schoenberg”.
